This A2 typewriter portrait was produced on a manual Imperial typewriter. It took around three weeks to produce.
The image was first broken down into thousands of pieces before the relative brightness of each one was recorded, and used to calculate which characters should be stacked on top of each other to achieve a similar density on the page.
The guide used throughout the typing process was compiled on a spreadsheet and output as a PDF.
