This typewriter portrait was produced on an Olivetti electric typewriter with a black ribbon.
Phil posed remotely via Zoom. I then sliced up the photo and calculated the relative brightness of each section, using this data to work out which characters should be typed in each location to recreate the original. This data was organised in a LibreOffice Calc spreadsheet.
This picture took around three weeks to type.
