Halftone plot of Nathan

This halftone drawing of Nathan was produced on A1 paper using four fat fibre-tipped pens: one cyan, one magenta, one yellow, and one black. Below, you can see a close-up of the halftone pattern I created.

To create the image, I separated a photo into its four constituent colours, then sliced each one using an identical grid. I measured the intensity of the tone in each square on the grid and used that to determine the size of the ‘dot’ drawn at that particular location. All of this dot data was organised in a spreadsheet, which was used to generate the final image.
