Nik holding a framed picture of a space invader from the 1970s computer game. The picture is made using real British postage stamps.

This mosaic is composed entirely of British postage stamps featuring King Charles III and Queen Elizabeth II. Created for a group exhibition on the theme of ‘digital,’ the work merges state-issued symbols of monarchy with the pixelated alien from the 1970s arcade game Space Invaders. The collision of hereditary authority with obsolete technology might suggest questions about the relevance of unelected figureheads in contemporary society.
